Weddings at Work Turns Networking Event Attendees into Influencers

Weddings at Work launched its flagship series of talks titled ‘WaW Meets Suppliers’ to gather seasoned and new suppliers and professionals in the wedding industry. Recognising the power of video to boost brand and event exposure and reputation, founder Benz Co-Rana partnered with CrowdClip to turn this year’s kickoff event attendees into influencers.

Challenge

Weddings at Work founder Benz Co-Rana has always believed in the power of social media to enhance awareness and visibility of her organisation’s brand and events.

“It is important for me that event-goers post on social media as it keeps the conversation going after the event and generates buzz for our brand and flagship event,” shares Benz.

She stressed that attendees must feel compelled to share rather than being asked or forced to. “For the previous series of Waw Meets Suppliers, I only gave away exclusive and customised freebies that would encourage attendees to share on social media. It’s up to them if they do so,” she says.

For this year’s series of WaW Meets Suppliers, she aimed to boost video content as social proof. “Video posts are more memorable and likely to build trust. Each of the attendees has their unique network and followers and I want to tap them by empowering my attendees to share videos like influencers would,” she says.

However, she knew that her attendees were not all social media savvy or could not record videos during the event, especially if they were busy listening to and interacting with others. This posed a challenge to increasing attendee-generated videos.

To make that happen, she needed a tool to empower the attendees to share videos from the event.

Upon knowing Benz’s goal, CrowdClip introduced Personalised Videos PRO.

Each video was personalised to the participant, thanks to CrowdClip’s patented facial recognition technology. It scanned through all five-hour long recorded footage for the top moments of each attendee and then inserted it into an event recap template from the videographer.

CrowdClip provided a secure check-in page where attendees can submit their names, email addresses, and most importantly, selfies for facial recognition. To ensure a smooth experience, the client received a pre-event email template containing the registration link, along with a QR code for display during the event.

Known Filipino wedding and event videographer Vince Catacutan captured the event. He uploaded a same-day template of the event highlight on the platform. It consisted of typical sequences and a placeholder that would tell CrowdClip where to embed the individual clips of the attendees.

Right after the event, the share hub was ready for Benz's approval. The automated sharing feature allowed her to send the videos to everyone with just one click. CrowdClip also provided her with an analytics dashboard for monitoring results.

Much to their delight, they instantly received a personalised event video recap sent directly to their email less than an hour after the event. It showed what transpired during the event, including their individual footage, giving each of them the spotlight in the video.

“CrowdClip helped ensure each of my attendees gain exposure in the event without having the responsibility of creating the content such as recording and editing themselves,” she remarks. “It also served as souvenirs to ensure they would remember the event.”

Boosts video posts and social proof post-event

Benz achieved her goal of boosting video content. The increase of more than 70% in event posts was attributed to the personalised videos.

She also received additional post-event feedback from attendees who wouldn't normally post on social media, owing to the ready-to-share assets.

“From my experience, CrowdClip is a tool to re-engage people after the event. It’s like a feedback tool. I got to learn their feelings and insights that I wouldn’t have the chance to know during the event,” she says. “Goers felt compelled to talk and post about the event once the video was out.”

Increases event exposure and reputation

With CrowdClip, WaW Meets Suppliers more than doubled its digital impressions at this year’s kickoff event. The event also recorded more than 20,000 video views across digital platforms.

“I’m happy that the videos have helped spread the event among our target audience and gained traction this much. It will help boost our exposure and reputation and will entice others to join our upcoming events,” shares Benz a day after the event, noting that the attendees’ network and social media followers were a premium audience.

She added that the results prove that social media users are more drawn to videos with real account visuals, sound, and authentic emotions. “Yes, words and photos entice people but videos can give them the feel the words cannot,” she remarks.

Since social media algorithms favour video content, she recognised that videos are more effective in building a more positive reputation and reaching a wider audience.

Maximises ROI

Benz gained marketing value of more than USD $13.8K, equivalent to what would others typically spend on social media ads and influencer costs.

The results also provided her valuable insights on her attendee’s digital behavior.

“I learned which platforms my audience prefer to engage on. This gives me a sense of where to focus my efforts for future events,” she explains.
