Perth-based mental health charity zero2hero aimed to make The Heroes Lunch more than just a fundraising event. It wanted every attendee to feel honoured, every sponsor valued, and every share count. CrowdClip’s personalised video technology transformed the day into a lasting impact moment that extended well beyond the venue, benefitting organisers, attendees, and sponsors.
zero2hero is a Western Australia-based not-for-profit organisation committed to improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing, and ultimately prevent suicide in Australia. It was established by Ashlee Harrison, who was named the 2016 Young West Australian of the Year.

Personalised Videos PRO
More than a fundraiser, The Heroes Lunch is an annual event organised by zero2hero to honour its major supporters and advocates.
Between the keynote appearance of Aussie icon Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins and a room full of VIP guests, the event generated hours of footage filled with emotion, connection, and energy. However, condensing that into a single event recap video felt limiting, as it was too impersonal for the people it aimed to celebrate.
This year, zero2hero set out to raise the bar. It envisioned something far more meaningful: individualised video keepsakes that would commemorate each VIP’s presence.
“Instead of settling for a traditional event documentation, we want to deepen event engagement by making our VIPs feel honoured, spotlight sponsors, and build a rich library of shareable content to power our post-event marketing and for our future campaigns,” shares zero2Hero founder and chief executive Ashlee Harrison.
To bring this vision to life, Ashlee and her team needed a solution that could efficiently produce high-quality, personalised videos at scale without overwhelming staff, overburdening the videographer, or delaying production timelines.
To achieve these goals, CrowdClip introduced Personalised Videos PRO. Using our patented facial recognition technology, we identified each VIP’s best moments from over an hour of footage. Each video was then customised with The Heroes Lunch branding and sponsor assets, making them both powerful mementos and marketing tools.
Capture
Following zero2hero's event brand guidelines, CrowdClip provided event assets to promote its presence. VIPs were provided with a secure check-in page to easily register and receive their personalised videos.
Create
Perth-based filmmaker Tay Kaka, as a CrowdClip partner-videographer, captured the full event, ensuring personal moments with VIPs were included. He then uploaded a professional recap template with dedicated sequences for individual clips to the platform. To generate personalised videos, CrowdClip's AI scanned the entire footage and embedded each VIP attendee’s top moments into the template.
Distribute
zero2hero seamlessly sent the generated personalised videos to all attendees from a centralised share hub. Attendees received their videos via email and could instantly download or share them across social platforms.
Enhances attendee experience and recognition
zero2hero's partnership with CrowdClip elevated the event experience, providing attendees with an innovative way to engage and capture their personal moments. A remarkable 92.4% generation rate meant most attendees took home a memorable keepsake.
At least 3 in 5 (63.9%) of checked-in attendees actively played and viewed, and shared their videos on the CrowdClip platform, extending engagement beyond the event.
Amplifies digital reach
Compared to the average single post of zero2hero, digital visibility of The Heroes Lunch expanded exponentially through organic sharing of personalised videos. Social media shares skyrocketed by over 850%, while public video views leapt by more than 1000%. Engagement also saw a significant boost, rising by over 51%.
Instagram proved to be the most preferred platform for their CrowdClip videos with the majority of shares, views, and engagement originating from the platform. The Stories feature, in particular, played a pivotal role, accounting for a substantial 75% of social media shares and underscoring its effectiveness in facilitating peer engagement and sponsor exposure.
Boosts sponsor visibility
The partnership delivered tangible benefits for sponsors, with 201 minutes of sponsor visibility recorded on social media.
This translated to an impressive AU$1K+ in earned media value, calculated based on influencer rates and another AU$160+ based on social media ad rates, further amplifying the event's impact.
Creates lasting content assets
zero2hero now boasts a comprehensive library of branded, ready-to-use content, thanks to the 61 personalised videos created from just 61 minutes of footage. This represents a remarkable 60x increase in content generated compared to a standard single highlight reel. The videos, organised by the faces of their community, provide a valuable asset for future marketing initiatives.
CrowdClip empowered Zero2Hero to amplify its digital presence, deepen attendee engagement, and provide valuable content assets to strengthen sponsor relationships and future marketing initiatives.
More than a tech solution, CrowdClip became a strategic event partner.
