The Ayala Alabang Community Run marked a significant milestone for Podium Sports as its debut fun run event. Designed exclusively for Ayala Alabang Village residents, it aimed to create a family-friendly environment that welcomed both seasoned runners and beginners.

“We have running enthusiasts who are already active in other running events, so we wanted to bring them together to engage with others and expand their network, fostering a stronger sense of community through our shared love of fitness,” says co-founder of Podium Sports Ezra Ferraz.

The inaugural event attracted nearly 150 participants, including celebrities and influential figures living in the premier residential community, and was supported by 15 brands.

“In planning the community run, we wanted to go beyond the usual finisher shirts and digital photos that participants typically receive. Our aim was to create a truly memorable keepsake that participants could cherish for years to come,” shares co-founder Gracy Fernandez.

Gracy added that highlighting sponsor recognition was equally important. “We also wanted to ensure that all our partner brands received ample visibility, with their contributions to the event being clearly recognised and celebrated,” she notes.

To meet these goals, Podium Sports decided to offer personalised videos as a unique and meaningful addition, making it the first race in the Philippines to offer such a souvenir.

CrowdClip introduced Personalised Videos PRO to maximise visibility for both individual participants and partner brands.

Each recap video was personalised using CrowdClip’s patented facial recognition technology, which sifted through more than four hours of footage to find the most impactful clips of each attendee and embedded them into a general event highlight video that also featured sponsors’ highlights.

CrowdClip set up a dedicated check-in page where attendees could easily submit their names, email addresses, and selfies. The client received both a pre-event email with the registration link and a QR code that was prominently displayed at the venue on the day of the event.

CrowdClip-partner Aristotle Studios captured the event and uploaded a professional recap template to the platform. The template included general highlights, key sponsor moments, and designated placeholders indicating where CrowdClip should embed the personalised clips.

Podium Sports received a centralised share hub that streamlined the distribution or sharing of event videos. Each participant received their personalised recap video sent directly to their registered email, ensuring seamless and secure access.

CrowdClip provided the participants with a distinctive race day memento, setting the event apart from other fun runs and elevates the overall participant experience.

“We wanted to provide participants with something personal and shareable that would extend the excitement of race day well beyond the event itself,” Gracy shares. “CrowdClip’s technology allowed us to do just that, offering a cutting-edge way to commemorate the experience.”

As a fresh entrant in the fun run industry, Podium Sports was initially anxious about the volume of user-generated posts a.k.a UGCs following the event, knowing it could directly impact exposure of the partner brands and the event’s reputation.

Positive feedback, coupled with the volume of shares and reposts on social media, revealed how genuinely thrilled participants were with their videos. The event recorded a 350% increase in video shares and an impressive 63x surge in total reposts.

“Some videos show sequences of the participants warming up, others racing along the course, and still others celebrating with friends at the finish line,” Ezra shares. “This personalisation makes participants more likely to share the content."

Gracy also added that the ease with which participants could share their videos on social media was a key factor in its success.

With CrowdClip, the event saw a tremendous surge in digital engagement, achieving more than 3x increase in interactions on event-related posts and more than a 270% jump in video views.

The success of the Ayala Alabang Community Run has also opened new doors for Podium Sports to expand its reach beyond the village. They managed to secure partners for a larger follow-up event titled 'Battle of the South' just two months later.

“The videos expanded our reach to a wider audience and boosted our reputation, sparking interest in future events,” says Gracy, highlighting the value of leveraging participants’ social networks.

Gracy remarks: “Given the positive experience and feedback from our participants and sponsors, we plan to incorporate CrowdClip into all our future events.”
