ACTAI Global hosted a five-day exclusive retreat in Port Stephens as a lead-up to the West Tech Fest. It focused on economic empowerment for the Australian startup ecosystem and ocean conservation, especially supporting the Great Barrier Reef Legacy in their coral conservation efforts. The event brought together high-profile attendees from its diverse community.

For such a high-ticket event, co-founder and chairman Bill Tai wanted to professionally capture its exclusivity while highlighting the personal experiences of each attendee. His goal was to create unique, shareable keepsakes that attendees could cherish while amplifying the event’s reach on social media.

“On top of interesting presentations and tech talks, we had exciting activities such as nature hikes, visiting Steve Irwin’s boat, kitesurfing with the great Layne Beachley, and other water and beach sports,” Bill shares. “So, I wanted to capture the unique experiences of our attendees in an impactful video and provide personalised keepsakes for them to cherish and share on social media.”

However, creating high-quality, personalised videos for such a multifaceted event posed challenges. Producing individual videos for each attendee required extra time for recording and scanning through extensive footage, adding labour and pressure to the videographer.

Using its patented facial recognition technology, CrowdClip sifted through five days’ worth of footage to find each attendee’s standout moments in just a few minutes. These clips were then seamlessly embedded into a high-quality video template provided by the professional videographer.

CrowdClip delivered a premium event experience by providing attendees with personalised video keepsakes. Approximately 87% of attendees received their CrowdClip videos with a remarkable satisfaction rate of over 96% according to our post-event survey. This validates CrowdClip's ability to create lasting memories while driving exceptional participant satisfaction.

Notably, 90% of checked-in attendees downloaded their videos, and at least 3 in 10 viewed them directly on the CrowdClip platform. Our post-event survey also revealed that 67% of participants chose to keep their video as a long-term memento—further validating the perceived value of personalised videos.

CrowdClip helped maintain the buzz long after the event, with over 86% of participants engaging in the event’s WhatsApp group, sharing their excitement and even anticipating and inquiring about the next event.

This organic, high-engagement interaction demonstrated the power of personalised event content in sustaining community momentum.

This digital ripple effect translated into a 354%+ rise in reactions, a 1850%+ surge in comments, and a 10x boost in reshares, resulting in an overall increase in engagement of over 393%.

Considering all posts about the event, ACTAI recorded a 666% increase in event-related content, encompassing both video and non-video formats. The amplification rate—defined as the ratio of social shares to the total number of attendees—reached approximately 37%. In practical terms, this means around 1 in 3 attendees organically shared public feedback about the event, offering a strong signal of authentic engagement and peer-driven promotion.

As shown in the charts below, Instagram emerged as the strongest performer, driving the majority of content, engagement, and views, while Facebook and LinkedIn offered complementary reach and interaction.
